MONASTERY VUJAN
The monastery Vujan is located on the road Cacak – G. Milanovac, not far from the village Prislonica, on the slopes of mountain Vujan (504m above sea level).
It is believed that the old monastery Obrovin founded during the reign of the royal family Nemanjic, was given as an appendage to one of the monasteries in Ovcarsko-Kablarska Gorge. The present temple was renowned on the holly tomb of an unknown monk in 1805, with efforts of the duke Nikola Milicevic Lunjevica. The remains of the dukes from the Serbian Risings Lazar Mutap and Nikola Milicevic Lunjevica are buried in the temple. The queen of Serbia Draga Masin erected the monument to her grandfather Lunjevica.
MONASTERY ST. NICHOLAS AT JEZEVICA
The church at Jezevica was built at the end of 16th or beginning of the 17th century. The church was decorated, according to our knowledge, two times. The first entity, which chronologically and in its style differs a lot from the second one, is in the altar area and it was painted in 1609. The inscription in an old prayer book (Quadri gospel of Jezevica) says that this place of worship was built by duke (ban) Milutin, aristocrat during the reign of Czar Dusan.
MONASTERY STJENIK
It is situated in the village Banjica. According to tradition it was founded by the family Mrnjavcevic. At first it was dedicated to the Birth of Madonna. As said by one inscription the life went on there in the usual way at the beginning of the 18th century, since a priest from Mojsinje was sent there to learn to read and write. The present monastery church was built at the beginning of the 19th century.
MONASTERY BLAGOVESTENJE AT TRNAVA
Once, it was a monastery, which was mentioned by Turkish inscriptions from the 15th and 16th century, by the name Vrelo (Spring). Some valuable religious objects are kept in it, and near the church there are natural rarities – human footprints in a rock, which are attributed to St. Sava according to folk tradition.
MONASTERY "VAVEDENJE" (PURIFICATION OF THE VIRGIN MARY)
The monastery "Vavedenje" (Purification of the Virgin Mary), with the church "Vavedenje Presvete Bogorodice" (Purification of the Virgin Mary) is located on the right bank of the river Zapadna Morava. According to one legend, this monastery was erected by Stevan Nemanja and his son St. Sava. Its existence was mentioned for the first time in 1452, and it was renovated in 1797.
The monastery has rare old books among which Belgrade quadri-gospel printed in 1552.

MONASTERY "NIKOLJE" (ST. NICHOLAS)
The monastery "Nikolje"(St. Nicholas), with the church "Sv. Nikolje" (St. Nicholas), is situated on the banks of the Zapadna Morava river, at the foot of Mt. Kablar. It was mentioned for the first time in 1476/8. According to one legend, the monastery was founded by the monks who came from monasteries on Athos mountain in Greece, escaping Catalan in the 14th century. Its parvis was painted in 1637 and its nave in 1697.
MONASTERY "JOVANJE" (ST. JOHN)
It was dedicated to the birth of St. John the Baptist. It lies on the left bank of the Zapadna Morava. It was mentioned for the first time in 1536. The old monastery was destroyed in 1959, and then it was moved to its present location. This monastery is visited by a great number of believers all the year round because of its importance, and also due to the hospitality of its nuns.

MONASTERY "PREOBRAZENJE" (TRANSFIGURATION)
The old monastery "Preobrazenje Gospodnje" (Transfiguration of our Lord) was located on the left bank of the river Zapadna Morava, and was mentioned for the first time in 1528/30. It was torn down in 1911, because of the railroad construction.
The present monastery "Preobrazenje" was built in 1938, and is positioned on the right bank of the Zapadna Morava. With the blessing of the Serbian bishop Nikolaj, the life in the monastery is organized according to the rules of Athos monasteries, which means that it has neither its parish nor its material goods; it has just a missionary role.

MONASTERY "SRETENJE" (VISITATION OF OUR LORD)
The monastery "Sretenje Gospodnje" (Visitation of our Lord) lies on the plateau below the top of Mt. Ovcar, at the spring of Koronjski brook. The first written words about this monastery have been preserved in a manuscript gospel from 1571.
The temple was painted in 1844 at the time of the bishop Nicifor Maksimovic from Uzice and during the reign of the duke Aleksandar Karadjordjevic.

MONASTERY "SVETE TROJICE" (HOLY TRINITY)
In the middle of wildness and peacefulness, necessary for a deep and constant prayer, on the slopes of Mt. Ovcar, there is the monastery Svete Trojice (Holy Trinity). The oldest written text about this monastery dates back to 1594/95. It has been recorded in Turkish documents since 1572.
Its architecture is the most beautiful of all in the Ovcar-Kablar gorge.

MONASTERY "USPENJE" (ASSUMPTION OF THE VIRGIN)
The monastery "Uspenje" (Assumption of the Virgin) was built on the left bank of the Zapadna Morava, on the north slopes of Mt. Kablar, in 1939. The present church was erected on the grounds of an old monastery. The site "Kulina"(Big Tower), with the remains of a quadrangle tower and with a structure of the rectangle base adjoining the rock, is positioned on the hill rising above the monastery "Jovanje", near the place where the monastery "Uspenje" stands today.
The monastery was renovated and consecrated on 23rd September 2001.
CHURCH DEDICATED TO ST. SAVA (SERBIAN SAINT)
Under the old cliffs of Mt. Kablar, beneath a rock in a small hollow in the stone, there is a spring of water which doesn't flow, but remains there making a small tank of 2-3 litres. The water doesn't drain, it is always there even when taken in bigger quantities. People call this water "the holy St. Sava's water, and it is believed to be miraculous.
A small church dedicated to St. Sava was built near the spring in 1938.
MONASTERY "VAZNESENJE" (ASCENSION)
It was restored on the ruins of an old monastery church, on the south slope of Mt. Ovcar. Two marble rosettes, decorated with floral ornaments have been preserved in the parvis and in the central part of the temple. Therefore it is supposed that the monastery dates back to the 16th century.
Among its manuscripts, a Quadri-gospel copied in 1570 has been preserved in this monastery.
"KADJENICA"
The cave "Kadjenica" got its name after an unpleasant incident during Hadzi Prodan's rising. Namely, people found shelter in this cave, but when the Turks discovered it, they put straw and wood on the entrance and lit it, so that the people in the cave got suffocated. In the year 1940, their bodies were burnt and buried in two stone sarcophaguses in the altar apse, in which Christ's Crucifixion was represented.
MONASTERY "ILINJE" (ST. ELIAH)
In the vicinity of Ovcar spa, above the monastery "Blagovestenje", there is the monastery "Ilinje" (St. Eliah), built in 1938 on the grounds of an old monastery.
A large number of manuscripts were preserved in this monastery. The monastery's overnight stay was built near the river Morava by duke Milos Obrenovic.
